Venu is a seasoned cyber and technology executive, with more than 25 years’ experience in implementing cyber security and technology initiatives both in Australia and Asia Pacific. He successfully established National Cyber Governance for Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia and uplifted cyber maturity for key Australian businesses such as Beach Energy Limited and SA Water Corporation. Before diving deep into cyber, he was an Executive CIO for a rural and urban water corporation in Victoria. He was elected Chair of IT for all 20 Victorian water corporations. Prior to joining the water industry, he played a crucial role in helping the largest retailer in Australia return to profitability. As a result, he was invited to serve on the Executive Advisory Board for Google Australia and New Zealand. Before migrating to Australia, he used to be the General Manager of IT for Harvey Norman in Singapore and Malaysia where he helped with their expansion from 7 stores to 29 stores over 7 years.
